When we speak to our clients in the food service industry, three important things come up time and time again; how to consistently service great food, how to keep costs as efficient as possible and how to bring creatively to menus.
As a collaborator with restaurants, pubs, cafes and bars we understand these issues and work to make life as easy as possible for teams, so they can ultimately deliver the best service and experience to customers.
Consistency
Being able to reliably serve up the same high quality dish time after time is hugely important. For brands with multiple sites there’s also a need for consistency across various kitchens around the country. Customers want to know they are getting their favourite dish and enjoy a consistent experience wherever and whenever.
For the food industry however, this is often dependent on the individual members of staff in the kitchen. We work with our clients to save time in the kitchen, and ensure the same standards every time. We make dishes like pies with dauphinoise potatoes already in place or pre-made self saucing souffles which just need to be cooked. Sometimes, we deliver products in kit form which are quick and simple to assemble on site using tools like pre-filled piping bags.
Costs
Rising costs are affecting many sectors. In the food industry we see this with a need to keep portion costs as effective as possible. While some costs can not be lowered, we work closely with customers to understand their needs and work to create workable solutions. This can be by adjusting portion sizes, looking at alternative ingredients or considering new cooking methods.
We also work closely with clients on developing new, cost effective dishes. We are currently seeing a rise in lower cost options, like more topped and loaded dishes – comprising a relatively cheaper base like a jacket potato, elevated with toppings, bowl style street food and snackification and small plates menus.
Creativity
Because we work in a bespoke way with our clients, nothing is off the menu when it comes to creating the best dish for your menu. We have flexibility to try new things, problem solve on your behalf and find a way to make ideas come to life.
We love being creative with the look and feel of dishes, plating and serving, and how we approach unique problems. We’ve recently discovered for example that putting pulled meats in buffet style dishes means there is a much more even distribution across dishes, and our kit style dishes which help with consistency, also mean you can create more creative dishes in house.
